Why it matters to educators
Automation can give educators time back from routine work, but it can also spread an error quickly. Good automation keeps people in control of decisions that require context, care, or accountability.
The foundation
Not every automation uses AI. A simple workflow might copy a form response into a spreadsheet; an AI-assisted workflow might also summarize the response or draft a reply. The important question is what the system is allowed to do without review.
Start with a clear, low-risk task and define what should happen when information is missing or unusual. Track the workflow, review outputs regularly, and keep a straightforward way to correct or stop it.
